Carl Jung believed that humans produce in art and story the inner images the soul needs in order to see itself and to allow its own transformation. If this is true and I believe that it is, why has our culture endorsed an education system that bases its most valuable essentials in reasoning by the mind through math and reading with the prime purpose to get jobs? Henry Ford said: " Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is the reason so few engage in it."

So why would the California government throw the arts out of the schools? What happens to human beings then? Are the mechanized humans alright in this condition? What if there could be a miscalculation of what a human being is? And how would this affect the arts that are still in the school systems? Are some arts, math, reading, physical education and science in education systems developing a joy of learning with healthy creative self-activation?

Some faiths have collided with indigenous religions in our community and also around the world. How can we reach an understanding when there are so many differences in different cultures? How can we find a connection to follow some fundamental issues for survival? Even if we try to reach out, we are often conflicted by language, location, food and religion, etc.

Whether we are aware of it or not, we are now living in the Artificial Intelligence age. In my next blog I will attempt to show what I am learning about how this affects our future on this planet, as we will eventually be living with Artificial Super Intelligence. What could this mean to us human beings? What will we need to change? Or do you think this is even necessary?

In my last years of teaching in various settings, I became very concerned that so few of our young were aware of the Golden Rule. Machines have isolated us from direct interactions with each other. You can see the hurtful results around us everywhere as well as many killings and wars. Maybe it is time to reassess what the human need is and to address this publicly? But how? It seems we need to be 'awakened' before more hurts happen to others and to ourselves!
